Hi everyone,
currently we see that each level in the unit had their own blog. Well of course I am very happy to see that each level had put in their own efforts in trying to build and maintain their blog.I praise all for your efforts.

But here come the problem, as there are 3 different blogs in our unit. So which one is actually our unit blog? This is the confusing part. As a uniform Group we all should all stick together as one. Therefore after some discussion, I had decide to suggest that we all combine our level blog into a unit blog.

I understand that each level would like to have their own space of blogging in the unit. That why, there are 3 different blogs. Therefore some of you may worry that, hey if we combine the blog. We will lose this space we have. Hence I had decide that in our unit blog. We will have 3 posting areas that can be navigate using tab button. This 3 posting area will be divided into a Unit posting area which mean which ever post there is for everyone in the unit. Then follow by the Sec 1 posting area as well as the Sec 2 posting area. Therefore, let said you want to post something regarding your level. You still can do so.

Also in the unit blogs, there will be more information such as coming events, Test result, etc..
Hence I hope the blog admin for Sec 2 blog as well as Sec 1 blog to approach me to get more details . SO that we could work out the blog faster.

Bush FIre 1 -

Part 1

bush fire 2 -

part 2

bush fire 3 -

part 3

Hey everyone, this are some interesting video about how SCDF fight a 4days 3 nights Bush Fire.. Also in the part3 , it introduce a firefighting appliances call the tracked fire fighting vehicle(TFV). This tracked vehicle is specially designed to traverse rough terrains with ease and dexterity, and has been fitted with suitable equipment to tackle vegetation fire.

Some information about Bush Fire, Bush fires are a common occurrence in Singapore during periods when the weather is hot and dry. Such fires require a large amount of firefighting resources, as many of these fires are deep seated in the ground, spread over large areas and are often difficult to gain access to.

This is the first time i post in our unit blog after being 3 months plus in this unit. well, anyway I also don't know how to start. Maybe talk about my first impression of this unit.Basically , one word bad.. Guys pls don't feel upset about it.. As to improve ourselves , we should understand where we standing. But do take note it is the first impression. Now, what I see is a unit with great boding, full of cadets with commitment, and the heart to improve.
The Sec 2, your drill standard had been improving a lot. From the machine gun like banging sound to now a good single solid bang. Also, I see your discipline had also improve. I can see you all had put in a lot of efforts in learning, paying attention in the training. And willing to spend time to study for your test. You all had try to work together, helping one another in achieving a common goal which is passing the test. Of course, there are times we all had different in view. But overall, we are still a team, a family..
For the Sec 1, I should be feeling quite guilty as actually I did not really train you all as much as the sec 2. I would said the only time i train you all is during our Unit camp. I know that a lot of you had a hard time in adjusting yourself from a normal teenager to a uniform group cadet. But this is what all of us had to go through. Some had quit due to the stress, some endure. Sec 1, do not give up. Sooner or later, you can get through. Because you are not alone. You had one whole bunch of family here.
To all, I really enjoy training you all in KCP. Today I see some of you all training in Bishan Active. It touch me a lot. Reason being, you all are the only cadets I see that are willing to take your sat off and come down for a informal training. I see all of you putting in efforts, using all your sweat in exchange to improve yourself. I see the Sec 1 and 2 bond together in the training. So guys, keep it up.. I believe one day, KCP can be a Gold Unit in UOPA. Continue all your effort and hard work. It will paid off one day .
Before I end my post, I would like to share this story with you all.I feel that it is very meaningful and everyone of us here. As a rescuer, should ponder. As we are not happy, if we are sad over things. Then during training, we can't focus and who know, you may miss out a very important knowledge about life saving skill. and i believe, no matter who we are.. Stay happy is the most important thing to do in life.

The Window" (Author unknown)

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour a day to drain the fluids from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed next to the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed would live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake, the man had said. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Lovers walked arm in arm amid flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man could not hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head: Why should hehave all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything? It didn't seem fair. As the thought fermented, the man felt ashamed at first. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - and that thought now controlled his life.

Late one night, as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room, he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running. In less than five minutes, the coughing and choking stopped, along with the sound of breathing. Now, there was only silence--deathly silence.

The following morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendant to take it away--no words, no fuss. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

Moral of the story:

The pursuit of happiness is a matter of choice...it is a positive attitude we consciously choose to express. It is not a gift that gets delivered to our doorstep each morning, nor does it come through the window. And I am certain that our circumstances are just a small part of what makes us joyful. If we wait for them to get just right, we will never find lasting joy.

The pursuit of happiness is an inward journey. Our minds are like programs, awaiting the code that will determine behaviors; like bank vaults awaiting our deposits. If we regularly deposit positive, encouraging, and uplifting thoughts, if we continue to bite our lips just before we begin to grumble and complain, if we shoot down that seemingly harmless negative thought as it germinates, we will find that there is much to rejoice about.
